Ash Grove Leamington Facility
The Ash Grove Leamington Cement Plant Facility is a cement manufacturing plant that opened in 1980. It was subsequently purchased by Ash Grove in 1989. In 1996, the facility underwent upgrades, and in 2001, a new finish mill and an automated cement loading system were installed.
Located 100 miles from Salt Lake City, Utah, the plant has a production capacity of 960,000 tons of cement annually. It employs 105 individuals, and in addition to providing direct employment, the plant also positively impacts the local economy through various means. The plant's operations create a ripple effect, generating approximately 880 additional jobs in other local companies that provide support services or supplies to Ash Grove. These jobs indirectly depend on the presence of the cement plant, fostering economic growth and stability in the area.
Some highlights of the Leamington plant: • Storage: 42kT clinker (inside) & 62kT cement storage • Dispatch: 95% Truck, 5% Rail• Reserves: 117mT proven limestone reserves/50 plus years at current production rate• Alternative Fuels: Chipped tires • Predominantly serving the Utah and Nevada markets.
